I'd advise you not to ring them yourself, get a school head to do it, or similar.

Why so? All the university letters and ucas, ask for you to ring them directly? Surely it's a bit more polite, and shows you really are interested and want to go there????

Hi guys, just a quick question:

When ringing your universities tomorrow (if necessary), do you ring the main admissions or the department you applied to?

Thanks alot

Yeah, I'm quite interested in this too. I've added all relevant phone numbers into my phone just incase - although my first choice are quite clever and only give out the number of their main switchboard on their website, so that saves confusion.
