Can't get a bf and found out why

Basically im 22 and can't seem to get a bf but I think one of the reasons (along with lack of looks and personality) lol is that i don't look mature and people say i look 12 years old and can't get there heads around the fact that im 22. I don't normally go out at night but I went clubbing and in a few pubs last week and a few older men were pointing and staring, then as i was going out one of them said 'bloody hell look at her she looks about 10'.

I don't know what to do as the more I dress up and wear make up the younger I look :confused:

Im 5ft and really small boned and im wondering if I have a bf he would feel strange and feel like a peodophile being with me or something. When a shop keeper foud out my age he laughed said 'you really don't look 22' and I replyed 'loads of girls are smaller than me though' lol and he said 'no its nothing to do with height or build its just your face.

What am I supposed to do :confused:

Its got to the point where I want to punch people who say 'you don't look 22'.

maybe you could wear more grown up clothes and your hair in more adult styles?

Try avoiding things like trendy highstreet jewellry and really trendy things like crinkled grey ankle boots...

There have been a few threads in F&B before where people have posted pictures and been given advice on making themselves look older. It's often quite helpful sometimes, so if you feel like it maybe do that...

What kind of makeup and clothes do you actually wear? What's your hairstyle?

Theres alot of people who'd kill to look younger than their age!!!!

I doubt your young-ish looks would stop you getting a boyfriend though. Ive got a friend whos 18 who looks about 10 and shes had more boyfriends than anyone I know....

hey , send me a pic of u and I will tell if u really look young cus most of ppl are nuts they cant distinguish the age of people by the face look , the other day a bus driver thought i was 16 even though I got a full beard and i am only 18.

Well I definetely dont look my age- over the summer at work someone
thought I was 16!! I wouldnt worry about it if I were you, you shouldn't put yourself down like that either, I'm sure you've got a great personality and when the right guy comes along he'll see that too and wont care how old or young you look. Don't pressurise yourself to try and make yourself look older just so other people will think you look 'right' for your age. Lifes too short!!You'll be the one laughing in a few years when everyone else is trying to keep their youth.

As for clothes I usually wear trainers, skinny dark blue jeans and black coats/jumpers.

Looking youthful is a great thing, you'll be happy in a few years, if you want to look mature, don't overdo the make-up, that often makes people look like a silly teenagers who who always use to much, and mabe dress in more formal clothes as opposed to "teenager" clothes.

And if you're just really desperate for a bf, just say yes to the next guy that asks you out, lower your own standards and don't be picky

Try wearing your hair up, in a chignon or a bun or something. And grow out the fringe, because that tends to make people look younger :smile:

And trust me, you are in no way ugly. Chin up, shoulders back, and be proud. That's nothing a little makeup won't solve! :smile:

Just meet more people.

I for one am in no way attracted to people who look older than they are, the opposite even.

Try a less flat fringe - it might make you seem less stocky (if you are).

One thing that (I know I find very, very hot), for small framed girls, is short hair. Audrey Tatou hair, Jean Seberg Hair. (Look the second up, she's a 60's film actress)

I usually have it cut like the woman in the first link I posted, it has gone a bit wild in them pics but do you think that short haircut makes me look younger then? I usually shove the fringe out the way anyway when its windy lol.

Dont panic. Best advice maybe u should stop panicing. Im sure theres nothing wrong with the way u look and people always id me in pubs and stuff and im the same age as you are. I got id'd for a 15 film one well about 2 weeks ago. Stop picking faults with urself im sure youre just fine and the looking for a boyfriend part can be one of the most interesting parts - uve got ur whole life to settle down.

Really long hair can make people look even younger. It all depends on your face shape. If you're confident enough go for a bob, or get a sweeping fringe or some other modern grown-up sophisticated look lol.
As for makeup, just keep it natural but highlight yor best features eg, eyes, lips etc. :smile:

Damn I hate wearing my hair up lol, still if its the main way to look older I'l have too. As for the clothes Ive not a clue, I never wear revealing stuff like her just jumpers, t shirts etc.
