Extra Small/Slim fit Men's Clothing

Where do the short thin guys here shop for their clothes? In the past 2 years I've dropped about 9 inches off my waist (exercise woo!) and I'm pretty short as it is. As it stands, I'm around 5'6ish, and have a 26-27 inch waist. I'm having real trouble finding clothes which fit, and there's no chance I'm gonna actively try to put on weight just to fit into more clothes, so where do the slimmer guys here go shopping for clothes which fit?

I hate the baggy styles out atm, massive t-shirts and that lot, which just exacerbates my problem, and I'm more into the slim-fit/skinny collared shirts, jumpers, polos etc - more smart casual kinda clothing. The best shop I've been able to find so far is Topman, where the XS and XXS tops fit me perfectly in most cases - keeping in mind I'm fairly short as well as quite thin. Does anyone else have any suggestions as to where might be worth looking? (N.B. Gap and Next are too large) Where do you get your clothes from?

Cheers!

Ben

I was at Heathrow last week and noticed that Fatface had brought back their XS sizing range.

Try American Apparel; they do XS and XXS sizes and their clothes tend to be quite slim fitting as it is. I'm a 30 waist and of slim build and size S from American Apparel fits me perfectly.

Hey there :]

Topman would definitely be the most likely place to find a range of sizes, especially the flagship store in Oxford Circus, London. If you don't have much time, you can order online at topman.com :]

As Guy said, American Apparel have a good range of sizes, and their products are really good quality. Again, they have a store in London (Carnaby St.) and an online store at store.americanapparel.co.uk :]

River Island sometimes has XS sizes too, but not in all of their lines, so it's a bit hit and miss.

H&M occasionally has smaller-sized tops, and you're quite likely to find smaller-waisted jeans and trousers there, all for a good price.

Gee, I sound like a sales clerk :]
Hope this helps xx

Nah, for someone @ 5'6, a 26/27" waist sounds fine.

I opted for the 'slim 6-pack' body rather than the massive uberhench figure =P thanks all!

A 26/27 inch waist is going to make finding trousers tougher, but I don't think it's necessarily unhealthy given your height. I consider myself pretty slim with a 30 inch waist at 5'7'' though.

What's your chest measurement btw?

for short weedy people (no offense) theres...

*Resists temptation to rant about the BS that is "no offence."*

I'm 5ft 5 - for shirts I tend to go with River Island who do XS as well as Topman (though I'm quite selective about the latter as I find a lot of their stuff too pretentious), but to be honest Gap / Burton shirts whose smallest is S are also fine, if you feel differently though then fair enough.

Trousers and jeans are an absolute chore, my size is about the same as yours. To be honest I tend to go for the larger kids' section of department stores and hope I can find something which doesn't feature some crappy pattern or design on them. Also I try the La Redoute website, they tend to have quite decent stuff.

I have pretty much the same problem. I'm about 5'7" and have a 28" waist.

Are XS sized shirts particularly easy to find in River Island or Topman? Or would you have to order?

Very easy, they're always in the stores.

I don't know. Anything less than 28' and you'd probably have to look in the women's section or the kids'.

Being hench and having a small waist are not mutually exclusive! I wear large shirts and small/extra small trousers. 43' chest --> 28.5' waist. :p:

Not a clue  Does 34-36 sound reasonable? If so it may well be that...

I know my chest is quite large compared to my waist cos I have to buy suits which fit my chest rather than my waist, since there's always room down there...
Go to Kids H&M. It's cheaper as their is no tax on the clothes and you're guaranteed that not that no one else your age will be wearing the same clothes(unlike the Topman scenester)

One of my best friends buys loads of stuff from kids H&M - he's got some awesome cheap jackets and stuff from there.
GAP usually has XS sizes, I'm 5'11" with 31"-32" waist and a 36" chest and their clothes always fit me.
I'm 5"6, and slim, so I thought why not post in this thread........

I've been able to find trousers and jeans ok, but have you ever tried shopping for blazers / suits ?! It's almost impossible to find one for my size - which is 36" S. I spent hours/days before I finally found one I liked for my size.

Given your waist measurement, that seems pretty reasonable. That's still a fairly small chest measurement though, since a lot of men's clothes don't really go below a 36 - I myself sometimes end up with 38s because 36s aren't widely available enough, but it can be quite a good incentive to bulk up a bit .
