Size: 36.5 KB The answer is C.

My question is, how could you choose answer between C or D?
How are you suppose to know which half equation is getting reduced or oxidised?
Does it have to do with the E cell values? Or maybe the fact that the hydrogen-oxygen fuel cells are in alkaline solution?

PLEASE HELP.

The edexcel book is *:innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent:ing* useless. Yes I'm mad and its bad.

There is a thing you just learn where the most negative electrode potential will be oxidised, so that one will go in the direction that releases electrons. Knowing that you know the direction of the overall reaction and can work out that H2O will be formed

Here is a link to a page about predicting the direction of a reaction:

I knew the E cell value had to do something with it! Thanks a lot!!
