Hi, I was strongly thinking about going to Staffordshire to do concept art for games/film, or games art, however I wasn't too sure if Stoke-on-trent would be a great place to live, I welcome any feedback on the course, and I was also wondering about sports/ martial arts facilities, and if it leads students to successfully enter in to a successful career in the video game making industry, also which course would be best for someone who wants to do both concept art and art direction?
If anyone can answer even one of these questions I'd be very grateful.

Hi Anneflynn,

Hope you have had a great bank holiday weekend!

If you are looking to study a games art course that has ties with concept art and art direction, then our Games Art BA might be the course for you.

You can read more about the course here http://www.staffs.ac.uk/course/SSTK-11152.jsp.

However, you may also want to consider computer games design or computer games animation.

You can also learn more about our games facilities by checking out our games design subject page here http://www.staffs.ac.uk/undergraduat.../games-design/.

Many graduates when they leave have found that they have very exciting prospects and go on to secure careers with the likes of Naughty Dog, Rockstar North and many more impressive industry names.

As for Stoke On Trent and living here, I personally love it. I've lived here my whole life and have found more and more things to do just from looking a little bit harder. There are new restaurants, clubs and shops opening all the time, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.

If you would like more information on what it is like to live here from a student prospective, why not have a look at our Student Life section here http://www.staffs.ac.uk/student-life/.

As for your interest in martial arts, we have our very own mixed martial arts society ran by the students union and you can learn more about it here https://www.staffsunion.com/activities/club/9288/.

I hope this all helps! Let me know how you get on and if you have any more questions.

Thanks

Sally
