Butler has the best bar :p:. We have hamocks!


As has been said recently in a different thread, the hammocks are a cheap gimmick to try and distract you from the fact that the bar is actually a small airport terminal - big metallic walls and roof, urgh. No atmosphere or warmth to the place :frown:

I think you'll find many people will rank Butler's bar as quite low down unfortunately.

yeah the busyness at Cuth's is annoying, but I'm hoping that is mainly Fresher's Week when everyone is down there for whatever event it is. One night Mary's apparently all came in and that was the worse night but still okay.
I'm waiting to see this hammocks some time, and if it is actually good in a bar.
I like the hammocks. :p:

Mary's invaded our bar a few nights back to do celtic dancing or something that I don't get because I'm American.

Generic - was it a ceilidh?!?!?! MAN I LOVE THEM!! I was introduced to ceilidh dancing at Durham and found it much like square/round dancing in the USA (I can never remember which one is right because whichever one is correct we used to call it something different at camp because we weren't quite in a square/circle - whichever one is right! Does this make sense?). I miss my ceilidhs :frown:
^ Yeah, that was it. :smile: Unfortunately I missed a lot of it thanks to some weirdly scheduled formal, but hopefully I can give it a go next time we have one. It definitely looked like square dancing, but with a bit less "grab your partner, do-si-do, yeehaw" in it.
