Do they? Unless you're spending 12 hours a day on them, how is it even a thing?
they want a guy that is on the 'grind' 24/7 and these are the same girls that do nothing but post selfies for instagram.
gamers are nerds
I don't get it - personally I'm a gamer, but even if I wasn't, I wouldn't look down on any guy who played video games - it's just like any other hobbies.

video games are a lot more gender neutral than they used to be. they're marketed that way (just look at how nintendo brandished the DS with games like nintendogs and cooking mama). there's a lot more girl gamers than there used to be, but yeah, it's still an underground thing in the social world.

Personally I don't mind if a guy likes games. As long as they're passionate about something (and as long as that thing isn't murder etc.) I like it. Passion about anything is nice because it shows they're capable of extreme emotion! Besides, certain genres of video games are cool, especially ones that require a lot of skill and have a good plot like Dark Souls. It starts to become a problem, however, when they're spending excessive time on them and prioritising them over socialising (either with me or anyone tbh). But honestly I don't think anyone would be that extreme!
That being said, if they are that extreme they might not leave the house enough for me to meet them.. !

Spoiler

Have you not heard of sssniperwolf? She is the ultimate girl gamer and in the comments, there's so many girls who also play games. It's chill. But some boys take it too seriously and prefer playing video games then spending time with his girl.
Excessive video game usage is anti social and annoying. Playing a few video games a day is not.

I like playing games too but don't do it very often because I'm at uni and it would be too much of a waste of time. However, no girl knows about this. It's something you do privately at home, not something to talk about with girls or to advertise.

I probably play 1-3 hours a day. I just find it very difficult to find girls who share my interests. Girls glaze over when i start talking about things I'm passionate about like Star Wars etc.

My ex never used to stfu about Star Wars, did my head in and I like the films. Just speaking to the wrong people, man.
What if they hate Kingdom Hearts?

Rightly so, what if they started talking about makeups? You shouldn't be using video games to attract girls, get some more conventional and attractive interest (sports, art, something cultural, travelling, cooking, etc).

I used to be a huge fan of a sci-fi series too (expanded universe and the like) but obviously never talked about it with girls.

Lol, maybe girls dont advertise their interests well. I'm mostly looking on online dating sites.

As i said, there is 1 gamer girl I know who has a bf, but gets a lot of attention from other nerds.
It's ok if he plays games, I play overwatch myself but if he is spending hours and hours on games and not on me then there is a problem
Anyone who looks down on another person's hobbies are douchebags. Girls who do make fun out of someone's hobbies are just :innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent:y and are probably too busy taking selfies of themselves to realise how fun video games are.

It is much better than what it used to be. Back in my youth it was really shameful to admit playing to video games to a girl, apart from a casual football match on PES with the lads.

It all changed in 2006 with the Wii and then with the DS. Nintendo conquered the female public and now most girls play to video games as well.

I was shocked the other day to see that some girls play to Counter Strike. That was completely unheard of 15 years ago.
