Political.
Because the economic entity is called the European free trade association

Definitely political- the unelected autocrats write their laws despite what individual countries want. Their own bailout was illegal from the EU'S competition rules, one rule for the autocrats and another for everyone else. Freedom of movement should of been an opt in and opt out system. Originally in 1975 (2 years after dead kiddie fiddler Ted Heath took us into the EU) It was sold as a free trade zone but its pretty much a nation union state. Where what works for Germany works for everyone.

Economic because thats where its spends its resources and most of the legislation is economic orientated. Still a significant political entity as well.

EFTA is different. It only has four countries in. Iceland, Switzerland, Norway and Liechtenstein.
