UCL wasn't in Clearing.

Supposedly, but I spoke to someone from UCL today and they said unofficially some departments have their own kind of clearing.

I have heard of this, but I thought it was just a rumour! You should call them up and ask on results day .

Hello drongo, thanx for all the list. I wonder if I can have a list of biology, biomedicine, bioochemistry and pharmacy in Q Mary London, City and UCL.

thanx a lot

WokSz is spot on that UCL don't advertise their clearing places and the only courses under Medicine in clearing are Alternative.

QM had C720 C7C5 C7FK F1C7 CF94 GC41 B990 C100 C150 C162 C180 C182 C1N1 C300 C431 C700 CF94 F1F4 F700 FGH0 GC41 F152

City had nothing for those courses

If they don't advertise when they have spaces then it's worth a shot, nothing to lose. People do get in as Clearers.

Exactly what I was thinking. I just think your best choice is to call them up on results day and see what they have to say. I thought all Universities had to go through UCAS though.

My understanding is that they would use the UCAS clearing procedure (Clearing passport needing sending in once agreed with admissions etc) it's just that the spaces aren't advertised.

Can you give some examples of these 'secret' clearing courses?

Reply 388

Not a scoobies, sorry.

Reply 389

Hey Drongo is it possible to have the clearing list for Childrens Nursing code 3360 and B730, and can i have the clearing list for Midwifery

Reply 390

I'm a bit naive about all this tbh.

I was rejected from all 5 unis to which I aplied.

Is there any chance I can start the clearing process early?

Also, could I get onto another course at a uni from which i was rejected through clearing?

^sorry to hear that:frown: - you're eligible for ucas extra now, which is sort of like a pre-results clearing.

if you go on the ucas course search, there'll be an option for "extra courses only" - you just select that, along with your course name, to see which unis still have that place available (or you can see which courses are in extra at a particular uni)

The thing is, my UCAS form is now in a sens no longer "valid", in the sense that I submitted it before a January re-take. However, my re-take has taken my overall A-level grades from ABB to AAB.

ok, but you should contact the department before you apply for one of their courses to ascertain what your chances might be anyway, so you can mention that change to them too - maybe send an email and ask them to match it with your application:smile:

which course have you/do you plan to apply for (if you dont mind me asking)?

Ideally English/English with/and something.

I'm thinking I should just give up though, because I did only Eng Lang/Lit and did it in a year too.

Would Definitely reccommend Emailing the admissions tutors or calling them to talk about your chances and update them on your situation, I did this when I applied through extra and it was very useful and makes you seem a little more enthusiastic.

Reply 396

Reply 397

Already did OT on page 12 (I found it using 'search this thread tool')

Education is too broad a category. Which course and which unis are you interested in? I did primary teaching already on page 9 of this thread if that is what you're after.
