For those who have not read my earlier point in the thread can I repeat that to be sure the actual course you are interested in is the one in clearing ask me about specific unis and course codes, eg medicine is listed in clearing but when you look up the codes they are alternative medicine courses.

I'm sure that once I tell you that there are dozens of pages of computer related courses that you will understand I don't want to type them all out. You wouldn't gain much insight from most of it because it'll just confirm to you that yes, there is every possibility to get every sort of computing course through clearing but that the very top unis have very limited clearing places.

I should perhaps have pointed something similar out to the geography requester. I gave geography as that category appears in the paper but then there are also human/physical/earth science categories...

TO ALL
Can I ask that those who still want clearing info, particularly about the 'big' subjects that they limit the request to about half a dozen unis with specific course subjects. From the lists already out it should be possible to guess which unis appear again and again in clearing.

Of course, this isn't actually my thread and anyone else is welcome to help out in any way they wish!

I will help to a great degree if your need for info warrants my labour time.

Also , do you have to send in your UCAS form to get into clearning or can you just like skip the whole UCAS thing and read the papers and phone up..

With Clearing, it's more about enthusiasm than grades. They'll ask you about why you want to do that course and talk to you about things before giving an offer.

And you do have to apply through UCAS, yes. But you can apply just for Clearing so you don't have to have applied by the january deadline.

Fill in a normal UCAS application. If you do it now you might as well choose 6 places and cross your toes. If you do it after some time in June then you can only apply for Clearing, but still need to do the form on the ucas site. if you apply before june but after the deadline you can choose 6 places, but unis don't have to consider you.

I'm just tidying up my personal statement and was going to send the application tomorrow, but now I think I might just do it after June.

The exact date is June 30th. If you apply after then, you can only go through Clearing.

Really, you might as well try now. Then you can have 5 choices and might get something, or you can have Extra. It's the same price but you get more chances.
