Ocean Nightclub

Hey guys, quick question...

Does anyone know how strict Ocean are for student ID on a Friday night? I'm not a student any more but am going for someones birthday..

Ocean are quite strict overall. If you still have your NUS you might get in, they might not look at the dates or anything. Nottingham as a whole is quite strict for ID IMO.

EDIT: It's a Friday night, so do you even need student ID? Unless Ocean is a strictly student club (i don't know). If it's not just a student club then surely it's just normal ID on a friday.

any student id will do, NUS card etc. it's at the weekends that everywhere goes psycho on id. mind i've been to ocean (a few times,the place sucks) and i've never been asked for id.

Nottingham as a whole is quite strict for ID IMO.

I know, i'm from Nottingham. I still have an NUS extra card that expires this month but my actual student card expired at the end of September. I've got normal ID and everything so I hopefully they'll be OK. Hopefully they'll be cool as they'll be able to see i'm not just going their to piss about seeing as I used to be a student.

It's the official Nottingham Uni student night which is weird for a Friday.

Hmm, seems strange as the weekends get more expensive (this is from being in Manchester) so no one really went to clubs, only bars. Guess it's different here though.

Student only, meaning they'll not let anyone else in though?

I think officially they're supposed to ask for a student card on the door, but usually they don't bother

I've normally been asked for my student card, but when I've had non-student friends with me, it's been fine.

I remember we tried to go once in first year and had some none students with us who got turned away because of it. But I don't know if that's the general rule or not.

Are you thinking of Oceana? Ocean's only got 6 by my reckoning (one on the left as you go in, the one in the seating area, the one behind the dj box, the big one on the right of the entrace, and then there are two upstairs: the one above the big one downstairs, and one on the other side of the entrance.
