A T-Shirt and Jumper (It'll be cold when you get there, but you'll warm up loads once you start skating, and need to take the jumper off most likely).

Warm trousers, not so long that they'll trip you, but long enough - try not to go with jeans as they take ages to dry and are clingy and uncomfortable when wet.

Thick socks, or a few pairs - ice skates can be very uncomfortable if your feet aren't properly protected.

Jeans, thick socks, layers ;yes;

You'll start off cold but soon heat up once you're on the ice. But then if you come off for a bit you'll want something warm on

Actually that is a point about jeans, they do take a long time to dry and are not so comfy when wet.

A pair of jeans are good so that if/when you fall down, you don't get hurt as much! If you do wear jeans, then try to find a bootcut pair or something so that they'll go over the skates.
Something fairly cosy for your top half, like a jumper or vest with cardigan so that you don't get too chilly on the rink.
Oooh, and some comfy socks are useful

Ice skates would be a good start :p:

I aint been skating in ages, I quite fancy going now.

Wear shorts and a t shirt.

Reply 6

As you're a novice it may be a good idea to wear an outfit that is quite layered so that if you fall it won't hurt quite so much.

should i wear my long coat?

Reply 8

I wouldn't wear a long coat, or anything which might get caught on other people. Take some gloves, you don't want any grazes on your hands if you fall.

Reply 9

10 pairs of socks, jeans, and maybe gloves incase you fall.

Reply 10

im wearing one pair long over knee sock, pair of normal sock, gloves, jeans, top and hoody and a scarve

Reply 11

I wouldn't wear a scarf. You probably won't be allowed to wear it on the ice as it's a safety thing.

oh!!!! i put it in my bag

Just wear jeans and a sweater... nothing too fancy, but keep yourself warm.

Thick socks/leg warmers, and plasters.
They can give you appalling blisters.
