I have a postgrad loan that I took out for a 2 year MSc course, of which I'm now approaching halfway. My SFE documents say I have an agreed loan for both years, just that the year 2 payment dates are yet to be confirmed.

If I decide to fund my fees through alternative means this coming year, how do I cancel the second half of my loan? If I did so, how would this impact on my repayment start date?

You should be able to change the amount of loan you're requesting on your online account at any point.

If not then you could make an immediate repayment on your SLC account http://www.slc.co.uk/students-and-cu...repayment.aspx

Either way your loan will only be repayable once you're earning over the threshold.

Thanks. I'm already over the threshold - I'm studying part time on top of a full time job. I'm just keen to know whether my Plan 2 repayments will start coming out of my salary from next April if I don't take the second year loan.

"No repayments will be taken towards your Postgraduate Loan before April 2019"
