what grades did you apply with (GCSE and AS) as i think this is what let me down

LOL!!! same here, i sent mine at 9.30 as i only got told about it in school in the morning by a mate, i thought that i wouldn't even be considered cutting it that late .........

i had similar grades at GCSE (2A*'s and 8A's) and at AS ABBB.......

you must have wrote a killer covering letter though (mine was just quick time lol), have you had any work experience before (as i haven't so was looking forward to this lol).........

PS. on your CV did you wright your predicted A2 grades or your AS grades?? (as i wrote the latter) :s-smilie:

i have an interview this friday (12th) afternoon...sent my CV and Cover Letter in like the 22nd or September or something...

I wrote my predicted A2s and also my AS grades on my CV..

J- bob what did you apply with??

PS. does anyone know if the WF get in contact with your school before they give you an interview, or do they request to you to contact your school (as on CV's you write references on request etc) :s-smilie:.............

also, no they dont contact your school as far as I am aware - i didn't put my school phone number down, nor did i tell my school I was applying and as no teachers have come upto me saying such and such have foned me about a work exp placement

yes...good academics, but last year i got rejeceted from their programs with those GCSEs so they definitely arent the be all and end all. ive tried to work on my IB knowledge and have gained some better extra curics since which i hope will help.

how about you#?

my grades are just a bit further up mate.........

yea i don't get WF sometimes, on the website and forms it says academic criteria etc, but other students (in the year above me) have applied before and they say it doesn't matter..........

as far as work experience wise, i have only managed to get a month with an accounting firm during the summer and not much else, what about you??

PS. what a-level subjects did you do (apart from the ones listed) as i think mine might have played apart (as my ones are not 'traditional')

Just to let you know, WF don't look into GCSEs much so don't worry.

inflation mate do have any sort of idea what there criterion is?...........

i mean i've heard from various people they (WF) take into consideration the schools you go to (and in my case i went to a state school), your race etc........

i mean does it matter if your half white (in my case) or are the programmes specifically for 'ethnic minorities'?

It's impressive how you guys are getting experience so early on. After I finished my GCSEs I spent my summer working at McDonalds (and no, not the finance department)!

lol @ the finance department comment ..........

think in another couple of years these schemes may become open to people in year 11 wanting early work experience lol..........

it's a shame though that opportunities are only available through the WF, as personally i think they should open the schemes up to people of any race (as although i am not from an ethnic background, i by no means have it easy in that i go to a poor state school and college because of my area so hardly have any opportunities available to me)..........
im sorry to sound dumb buts wats 'WF'?? as for work experience - nope not had any apart from voluterring at oxfam and working at starbucks. i didnt put any of my AS or predicted A-level grades down at all so i duno why they pick me to be honest. does anyone know where the building is in london? the windsor fellowship office as i didnt get an attached map and im comin from manchester so dont really wana get lost :s-smilie:

WF = Windsor Fellowship. I didnt get the map attached either, so jus email them or call on monday to ask them for it. Just so you know, the easiest way to get there is to train it to liverpool st station, and then you get a bus from outside about 5 stops to the office. I forget the bus number but it will be on the map.

what day is your interview?
