Speech and Language Therapy Bsc 2017

Anyone starting Speech and Language Therapy Bsc in September 2017? I have an unconditional offer if I firm them that I think I might finally accept after pondering on it for a while! I just have lots of hesitations about studying in London but think it would be foolish to turn down an unconditional...

Hey! I have the same offer! And I feel exactly the same loool, i'm not sure whether to firm it or not yet :/ I love the uni and the course at city! Its silly but i'm super indecisive! I live about 45mins - away from the Uni so i'd be staying in halls first year then probably moving back home for the next 2 years. BUT i'm struggling whether to firm city or DMU because it seems like such a fun lively uni and the SLT students get a lot of support from lecturers idk it seems more relaxed? Also studying in a new city would be very exciting!

Finally, someone else! I'm so indecisive too, whenever I think I'm reaching a decision I'm think but what if?😂 That's so good that you can commute from home, part of what puts me off is trying to find a house for second/third year. I don't know whether to firm reading and risk it or accept City :frown: Another worry from reading about City is the social life. I like to go out but it seems like it has more of a work ethic and that the uni doesn't organise things. I honestly can't decide😭

Yeah i'm the same :frown:( I've heard that also about the social life there which is a bit off putting! But apparently many London uni's have that same vibe. I'm sure there are plenty options for 2nd and 3rd year! The main thing is not having to stress as much about grades on results day...And that would be the biggest worry gone almost? Same idk whether its worth risking it or not!
The social life is pretty decent compared to what I've been told about it before, I'm a 1st year and if you wanted you could find someone to go out with clubbing every day if that's your thing, I'd say London in general does have a certain vibe visiting out of London I preferred the nightlife but they only have 1/2 student clubs usually whereas here there's loads of student nights and normal clubs. If you can't find housing alone there's alliance house which is an accommodation for 2nd year students onwards so I wouldn't worry about that. 1st year accommodation is easy to get there's still places available right now.

Okay that's reassuring. Yeah I'm from Birmingham myself which has a really good night life! Did you live in Halls first year? Any suggestions out of Liberty Court/Liberty Hall/East Central House? (Considering factors like socialising/going out/location?) Thanks for your help!

If you're okay with not having your own bathroom take liberty court, the cheapest of them all and walking distance from uni although ECH and liberty hall are too, people there love to go out. I myself wanted an en suite and chose liberty hall, in hindsight if I wanted ensuite I'd have taken ECH. Haven't been to tuffnell house it doesn't really make sense to live there, expensive and you have to travel put it last regardless of what you hear, I've heard it looks nice if that's anything. If I was to rank them I'd say liberty court>ECH>liberty hall> tuffnell house, if you want ensuite move lib court to 3rd although you only share with 1/2 people max so it's not as bad as others.

Feel free to ask more questions about anything City related should you need.

What makes you suggest ech over Liberty Hall? I would like an en suite but literally can't reach a decision between the two! Do you know if ech has access to a gym? As I know Liberty Hall does and that's a big attraction if it free😂
Honestly I thought the same about the 'gym' it's just a room with a few weights and things like a 'gym' you'd have at home liberty hall doesn't have a flat system so you won't be forced to see your flatmates everyday it's like a hotel layout whereas ech has flats also lib hall has kitchens shared between 8+ people while being a little more expensive too. Ech doesn't have a gym but unless you already use one I doubt you'll actually make use of liberty halls, it's at a different accommodation down the road you trade your keys at reception to use it.

Awesome! I am actually not applying for accommodation as I live in London already so it will take me 20-30 minutes to get to uni so its not that bad.

Hi people. Does anyone know the timetable more or less?
I know we get one study day so we go to lectures 4 days a week but my point is when placement starts (which is usually primary school in first year) does it go on our study day or does it go on one of the 4 days of lectures a week?
While I'm not on that course this website has the timetable for the year that just passed for every course
