The Student Room Group

Need help on UCAS form.

What should I put for the dual nationality bit? I was born in Scotland, my parents are chinese and now we live in England.

What about the area of permanent residence? My parents are planning on moving back up to Edinburgh after I finish college....

Then there's the student support section, I have no idea what to do with that at all.

What is the Nominated Access section and Activities in preparation for higher education?

What should I put as the occupation of my parents if they worked in a Chinese takeaway? Self-employed?

Do you officially hold dual nationality status? If so, you put your first nationality in the 'Nationality' box, and your second in the 'Dual nationality' box.

For the first bit, the majority of people come under the 02 section, the others are for if you're funding all your time at university yourself or if a third party is financing some of it on your behalf. Chances are you'd know if they were, so most probably 02.
The second bit, my college told us to put down the county we live in at the moment (I guess where our parents/guardians are), but that could be a bit tricky if your parents are planning on moving. Maybe ask careers/uni people at your school/college or ring UCAS about that?

Nominated access is, believe, for if you're going to be away for any significant period of time during the applications/results etc. process, and you want UCAS to be able to talk to someone else (like a parent for example) about your information/offers etc.
Activities in prep for Higher education is activities through organisations like NAGTY, and often courses that Unis run, like the medlink one at Nottingham Uni for medical applicants.

Hope that helped a bit, I'm not sure about the other questions. If no-one on here knows maybe ring UCAS and see what they have to say?
