Heya, have asked for your thread to be moved to Mental health.

Check out the MHSS thread and the stickies, but I think it's key that you explore your real life avenues of support first. It's not always going to be useful but they're in the best place to help you.

Beta blockers are a great help! Also forcing yourself to go out more makes it eventually get better. Locking yourself in a room makes it worse or so I found it did for me anyway and when I got a job and started working I had no choice but to put myself out there. It's taken a few years and I still have social anxiety but I'm nowhere near as bad (I'd not answer a phone or make a call or even go to the super market)

Have you spoken to your GP about this? He/ she could refer you to a counsellor or therapist who should be able to help you out.
I also suffer from really bad social anxiety as well. I am currently on counselling and I am thinking of having plastic surgery as the anxiety is about very specific features of my appearance.
Don't be afraid to seek help. Having treatment will make all the difference. Anxiety is a manifestation of your emotions and you should realise it as such. Be aware of your emotions and let them pass.

Yes I have been to a therapist and I underwent CBT last summer it was helpful but did not make a lot of difference. What do u get anxious about? I just want to know so I know im not the only one!

See a professional. I would start by making an appointment with your GP and seeing where things go from there. They may be able to provide support and assistance, or refer you to a specialist or therapist.

Its about my birthmark and hyperpigmentation scars. It can get really bad, and I would think that this situation is something which only a few people go through (I would hope).

18 now. Its not about other people, I am struggling to handle my own appearance even when I am not in social situations that's how bad it is.
