Hey!

I'm probably too late but will give a brief answer since others in the future might find this helpful anyway.

So the main pros about Joseph Stones are:
- It's literally next door to LCoM; any closer then you might as well sleep in the lecture theatre
- You're almost guaranteed to be staying with other LCoM people, if that's what you want
- Relatively quiet outside unlike other places which are next to main roads
- There's some patches of grass outside, not much but just enough to play some frisbee or football

Cons:
- This is dependant on the person ofc, but living so close to LCoM, some people might get a bit lazy and stuck inside the 'LCoM bubble', geographically and socially. Once again this depends on the person - for many people this isn't the case!
- Some other places are simultaneously nicer and cheaper
- The lifts are small and slow as f*** in my opinion, haha!

So if you weigh up those pros and cons, JoStones is a pretty solid choice in my opinion!

Other places that most LCoM students go to also include Mill Street, Liberty Dock, Lovell Park, The Plaza and Broadcasting Tower. I myself applied for The Plaza (I couldn't get JoStones because I left it too late and it was sold out lol) but I was reallocated to Broadcasting Tower before I moved in because The Plaza got flooded. It turned out to be an upgrade for me though

I'll leave out things like prices and distance since you can find it out yourself. Although one more thing, you might also want to consider not only distance from LCoM, but also from the city centre. IMO, it is mostly concentrated from the Trinity Centre area up to around the Merrion Centre, so keep that in mind.

Congrats on getting into LCoM!!!

Joseph Stones house is great if you want to party and don't mind students practicing at odd times of the day and night and can sleep through it all. The walls are pretty thin. There are however practice rooms available at LCoM until 3am on weekdays. If you want anything quieter so that you can concentrate and sleep I'd advise speaking to the Accommodation and Student Welfare lady
