This may surprise you, but blood is pumped to all areas of your body. It's a shocker

If you feel a second pulse in your abdomen, have you considered the possibility that you're pregnant? I'm surprised no one else mentioned it :X

Damn, good catch, Dr Delight. Can't believe I didn't think of that.

Im male and it is physically impossible for me to have concieved a child, so no its not my unborn childs heartbeat

I'd definitely recommend seeing your GP about it. There may be an underlying cause such as increased pulse pressure or thrombosis.

Yes, I'm afraid you are going to die. Maybe not for a long time though... :p:

Seriously, I've got no idea what it could be and for all I know it's perfectly normal. I'm just raising the point that you should get it checked out.

:banghead: It was a joke. Even if you were female and pregnant you wouldn't be able to feel the foetus' pulse!

Clearly. Try your femoral artery, that's a good 'un. Inside of your thigh, right at the top.

OP in all seriousness, you're probably just feeling your pulse in your mesenteric artery, the one that supplies your intestinal region. It's probably becoming squashed under an organ, meaning that you can feel the rushing of the blood inside the vessel, just like you would if you felt for your pulse in your wrist or on your neck. If if bothers you, see your GP but you should be having fairly regular check ups to keep an eye on things like your blood pressure anyway.

oh right thanks @ Blahboo do u feel pain when u get this feeling in ur ears/legs?

Having thought about it again it could also be muscle spasm, possibly caused by a trapped nerve. Do you get enough calcium? And do you do sports that require a lot of twisting and turning, like swimming or martial arts?
