Margaret Rule Hall and post....

Hey all, im in Margaret Rule hall and have just made some orders for parcels. And suddenly occured to me that they will be bigger than the damn post box! haha.

So where does it go? are the university or halls okay with this sorta thing?

if it's coming through royal mail, a card will be put in your letterbox and you'll have to go to the mail depot (it's opposite matalan, kinda behind debenhams. just go to the post office and they'll direct you.) you'll need your halls card to pick it up.

a word of warning, basically anything thicker than your average letter will be sent back to the depot for you to pick it up. my mother posted down a tie for the fresher's school disco when i was there ( :cool:

) and it easily would've fit through the letterbox, but no, i had to drag my ass up to the depot. gah.

orrrrr, if it's coming through a courier, it'll be directed to bateson reception and you'll have to go pick it up there. again, with your halls card.

And well its 2 textbooks from Amazon so im gna guess courier, and a few cds from dell, which is definitely courier. Will see i guess!

Yep exactly, my course mate and I last christmas had to go to Horden nr Waterlooville, to get a light for his house/room.

not sure why you had to go all the way to waterlooville? or did you have to go to the courier's depot?

the post office depot is only in town, but it was a long way to walk from JW just for a tie! :p:

hate to break your bubble but i did :p:

took 2 days to come (ordered saturday here monday), was well chuffed and delivered by royal mail. it beat me here i was still at home for the weekend!

yah, i just read - special deliveries were still being sent.
burst my bubble? no, it really didn't matter that much to me.
