Do you lose your sex drive when you're ill?

I have a cold at the moment, and my boyfriend stayed over last night, but i didnt feel like i wanted to do anything coz i felt so rotten, kept coughing and my nose kept blocking up.

He didnt get annoyed with me or anything, though. But it was quite frustrating, coz he was really up for it, and i really wasnt, no matter how much i tried.

I just wanted to know whether its normal to lose your sex drive when you're ill? Is it possible to be in the mood while coughing up phlegm? haha.

Surely you lose your drive to do anything when you're ill.

That said, sex is, in the short term, a great way to feel better.

When I was just recently ill, my umm sex drive definatly did not go down. lol. Everything contionued as it would normally...aside from the occasional cough fit :redface:

of course it's normal....you're ill! you don't feel perky and good to go, i'm sure you don't feel particularly sexy and you can't breathe properly! not conducive to an amazing night of passion.

My sex drive goes up when I'm ill, and sex usually makes me feel a bit better.

I lose my sex drive (and my drive to do anything else, for that matter) when I'm ill. For me, it's just about the ultimate passion killer.

Depends how Ill. Unless I feel like im dying- no. Although I dont expect Id feel particually attractive which woould probably kill it a bit.

Tbh, I don't see how someone can have a sex drive when they're ill... you don't want to do anything when you're ill...
and come on, coughing, sneezing and phlegm are not the biggest turn ons... Actually, I'm quite suprised your boyfriend still wanted it :s-smilie:

I have noticed on here, that its the girls that are saying it affects theirs much more, whereas the boys are more like 'depends how ill' and saying it would make you feel better.
Maybe there's something in that.
