To be a registered psychiatrist, you have first to train as a doctor (i.e. in medicine), and then to complete several further years of specialty training. It takes a long time!. For the UK, the main career pathway is described on the Royal College of Psychiatrists site here. If you already have a degree, you may be able to enter a graduate entry programme for medicine, which is a 4-year rather than a 5 year course, but you still have to complete the further years of specialty training.
