I have something like that with one of my chem teachers. She didn't explain the homework properly, I found the answer on good old wikipedia, then I ended up having to explain it to her! For which she now owes me a chocolate bar! And now she's given us more homework that I don't understand...argh!

I would complain, because my teaching at 6th form was ****. I got bcd for a levels in the end and i am still depressed.

my AS level maths mechanics teacher....he left us at xmas...didnt finish part of one particular chapter...'would go bk to it at the end' (which didnt happen)...he was replaced by sharing lessons between our core teachers....still didnt finish the course and went into the exam in june having never seen a past paper before in my life

i failed the mechanics and scraped two D's in c1 and c2...so overall an E....but there we go....welsh schools for you.........

mm i would complain but tbh i dont think its worth it - everyone else likes her "coz shes nice" & I know that at least i'll understand it better if i teach it to myself

shes also the one writing my reference .. which will be exactly the same as everyone else's in the class

Stop turning up and do it yourself.
We'll call it an experiment. See how substandard they are I suppose.

mm she'd notice if I didn't turn up tho :frown: i generally ignore her the whole lesson

it just annoys me that shes getting paid for it - its so unfair & stupid

I think you'll find that YOU have cost yourself your life. What do you do if you know you have a bad teacher? Oh yes, that's right. Sit around, moan, whine, and do nothing. What a great idea, why didn't I think of that?

o **** off. I tried to self teach but there was just way too much i didnt understand. The guy who taught me biology lost his mind at ****ing 20 years age as he fell of a wall, says a lot for his ability

I don't sit around & moan, myself. I'm just annoyed about the fact that she is so useless and has such a bad impact upon my enjoyment & enthusiam for the subject, and the fact that it means we have to work harder than everyone else because she sets way too much hw and shes getting paid for doing f all!

sorry, not meaning to cause arguement I'm just v.annoyed by it

well its cost me a lot mate. I got a poor grade and so I had to go to clearing. Now I am at uni and I hate it, i am actually thinking of moving countries becasuse my grades wont get me into any better uni. The reason for this is a bad teacher. They get paid a lot per year and yet they hardly teach.

sh** thats bad! Luckily, I don't really need a decent Stats grade for Uni but it still makes the lessons & hw v.frustrating

:frown: what do you think you'll do?
Reading about bad teachers makes me feel quite lucky, all my A-Level teachers seem pretty good. I had a shockingly bad teacher for GCSE Geography, she didn't teach us anything above about a C grade standard, a regularly just teach us at all, one lesson she allowed a class picnic. So I just didn't bother going to the lessons, which was quite difficult to get away with repeatedly, and taught myself. I only got an A, but considering I'd had such a bad 2 years which ruined my interest in what was one of my favourite subjects, it wasn't that bad.
