Both Pyridine and 4-aminopyridine act as bases which can pick up a proton on the ring nitrogen atom.
Use resonance structure to explain why 4-aminopyridine is a stronger base than Pyridine (5 marks).

Draw out the different resonance structures for the protonated bases, and look at which one (hint: 1-aminopyridine) is most able to stabilise the positive charge
