Hi guys, I'm having trouble answering question 4 b (ii) on this paper and don't understand it very much. Could someone explain the background theory on how they came to this answer?

It uses conservation of energy.

Thermal energy lost by the copper block is equal to the thermal energy gained by the copper container and water to reach 100 deg celsius and thermal energy used to vapourise the water.

You need to compute the thermal energy (say Q1) need to heat the copper container and water from 80 deg celsius to 100 deg celsius.
Then use your answer to b(i).
b(ii) ans = b(i) ans - Q1
