Were you slapped as a kid?

I remember being slapped around the face a few times and recieving a clip round the ear. Thats all really, apart from my dad getting me on the floor sitting on me for 5 minutes when I misbehaved, he called it 'the stone'.

My parents strictly oppose to any kind of physical punishment, so I wasn't slapped once.

Smacked bum. Lol and then on the hand. Till I was twelve and my mum did it and I laughed at her :smile:

Probably not so smart as she then grounded me instead...

I was slapped across the cheek when my mum was mad and hit across the head by my dad. Better than being hit on the bum lol.

I was smacked on the bum, my dad once dug his nails into my arm so hard that I started bleeding (still have the scars now :rolleyes:

), I was yelled at, sent to my room, whatever.

But I don't think I was ever hit around the head, at least not intentionally.

Yeah, I was.
It's pretty normal in my family, it's just seen as the way of punishment.
It wasn't too painful, but enough to make us understand that what we'd done was very wrong!

Not on the head.
But I definatley got smacked on the bum, and probably arms and legs too.

Sometimes physical punishment sinks in more than being shouted at etc.

Never smacked or anything like that. The closest to violence was the "kieteldood" (Dutch for tickeldeath), meaning that my dad tickled me till I gave up/admitted/etc. It was actually a lot worse than you'd imagine, but nowhere near real violence I guess :P

I got smacked occasionally. I thought it was a crap punishment; I'd never do it if I had kids. The only thing it made me feel was a loss of respect for my parents because they needed to resort to that sort of thing; well, more my mum than my dad because she would do it more out of anger. After I threated to wallop her with a metal pole if she smacked me, she never thought about it again :biggrin:

Id get smacked on the bum, but really only when I was in a nappy. Then afterwards my dad would just grab my arm and pull me sideways and then shout at me. That was the worst part, not the smacked bum but being shouted at!!

Yeah, on the bum. But there comes an age when it isn't punishment any longer but humiliation and asserting of status by the parent. I am mad as hell about this.
