going to AnE to get checked out.

Whenever I hit my head, I check I'm not concussed. Have you done the 'shine a light into your eyes and see if your pupil gets smaller' thing? It really sounds like you hit your head hard :/ Has it swollen up? I'm paranoid about head injuries, but I think you ought to have it looked at, and today :/

Hmm. I don't want to cause panic or anything, but throwing up isn't very good if you've banged your head! You could try ringing the NHS line and they can give you advice- 0845 4647.

Generally the only advice that I know is to put ice on the bump as soon as it happens, but seeing as it was a while ago... that was a pretty pointless thing to tell you=P

So yeah, I would advise getting it checked out- you could have very mild concussion. I hope you feel better soon!!!

Is your nearest A&E department nearby? If there's any way of getting there which preferably doesn't involve you walking far on your own- i.e. asking one of your friends or relatives if they can take you, then please definitely go so you can be checked out. Vomiting and drowsiness after a blow to the head are symptoms of concussion, which can be very serious if untreated. Have you ever experienced anything like this after a seizure before?

Oh i really dont wanna go a&e cause they will make me stay in cause of the epilepsy and ive only been back at uni for 3 days. Im not sure whether i passed out or not but its nasty - i feel sick again urgh!!
If you don't want to go to A & E there is nothing anybody here can really do to help you.
Nobody here is a qualified medical practitioner (at least I don't think they are) - and even if they were, they can't physically check you out over the internet!

We can tell you to have a rest and see if you feel better, but chances are that if you've got concussion, you're just going to feel worse if you leave it and don't get treated.

Go to A&E - seriously!

I know you don't want to but it's probabally best to go to A+E like everyone else says, as it sounds as if you are quite badly concussed so it's safest to go there and get checked over

I didnt know that exisisted light thing what is it??

1. Get a mirror
2. Cover one eye with your hand, so it's complete darkness in front of that eye.
3. Quickly uncover your eye and look straight at a light. Does the pupil shrink quickly? If it does, you're probably ok. If not, it's a problem :frown: Do it for the other eye, too.

Also the 'follow someone's finger' test, but you need someone else to do that. Just try and follow their moving finger without moving your head. If you can't do it, or you look really strange (they will be able to tell), there's something wrong.

Really though, you don't sound good at all! Please get some help. I've known someone die of a very small head injury, and yours doesn't even sound small. I hope you are ok, but don't assume you are, please!

If you are not going to A&E, make sure you tell someone in your halls, leave your door open tonight and ask if they can check on you whilst you sleep.

Ok sounds extreme, but a head injury can be very serious and if you are feeling this bad then you need to make sure that you do not throw up in your sleep and choke on your vomit so also try and lay on your side.

So for the sake of staying at uni and getting urine-ed up you're not going to go to hospital and get a head injury checked out? You sir/madam, are a fool.

And Ill bet you werent wearing a helmet either.

Don't play russian roulette with your health. That's just stupid. Do as everyone says and make sure you're ok.

Even if you point blank refuse to go to A&E, please don't do this. In the event of you having concussion, falling asleep could mean that any changes which may happen to you are unlikely to be detected, i.e. it's quite possible that you could go into a coma, and this would go completely unnoticed because you'd just appear to be sleeping.

go to A&E!!! if you know they'd want to keep you in, the why are nt you going?? they dont keep people in just for the fun of it!! hospital beds are few and far between enough without that.

head injuries can be very serious, stop being silly and go to hospital!!!!!
