what's this equation?

I'm trying to figure out an equation for the frequency of light required to excite a molecule between two energy levels, if the energies of the two levels are denoted e upper and e lower?

I think you should be asking the Quantum Physics forum about this.
E = hf, where is E is the energy difference between the two levels (in J not electron volts), h is Planck's constant, and f is the frequency (Hz) of the emitted photon.
