This is not normal, is it?

I'm a female 18 year old, and I seem to have an unusual interest in male/male relationships. It's something I think about a lot. It's gone as far as reading and writing slash fiction on the internet, amongst other things. It's like I'm obsessed.
This is really not normal, right?
Does anyone have anything to say about this? Advice? Insight?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Popular culture has lead us to believe its ok for men to fantasise about lesbian relationships but male homosexual relationships are of no interest to anybody but men. This just isn't true and i'm sure there are a lot of women who think about male/male relationships in that way. Homoeroticism has always been a major theme in literature and film - for example, Lord of the Rings has a mild homoerotic theme running through it.

However, if you are thinking about it constantly to the extent that its affecting your life I would suggest that you try to occupy your mind with other things and limit the amount of time you spend thinking about it and reading homoerotic fiction. If you give yourself half an hour a day to think about it and don't let yourself indulge for the rest of the day then your obsession should gradually start to wane.

Don't worry - you're OK:smile:

Have a threesome and get it out of your system.
Lol. It's not all that unusual, people just don't talk about it so much.

There's so much slash fiction out there it must be something that other people like. I know some of my friends really like it.

Look at it this way: everyone has their foibles.
It's really not abnormal. It's about as normal as any fetish (which are all pretty weird, but still all 'normal').

It's fine. There are alot more weird fetish type things that people enjoy. ALOT WEIRDER.

i think its fine. its probably something that people just dont talk about much. i think it is seen as a "forbidden" thing. but dont worry!! you're fine! there are, as has been said, far stranger fetishes!!

I'm not so bothered about being odd generally, but weird sexual things aren't really talked about. At least, not in my experience.
There is nothing wrong with liking the idea of guy on guy action.

Becoming obsessed with it is slightly abnormal however.

It's pretty normal for men to like girl on girl action (it's probably weirder if they don't) so I don't see why there should be anything wrong with a girl liking a bit of man on man. It does seem a bit less common but so what?

Trés bizarre thing to say, but I think that homosexual pr0nography is a popular form of erotica for females in Germany. You are by no means alone!

OMG, congratulations, you're a fangirl! There are THOUSANDS of us!!!

Who do you think sustains the audiences for Queer as Folk, Torchwood, and other Russell T. Davies-based yum? It's so normal to me that it baffles me that we're a minority, when lesbian-loving men are the mainstream.

Straight guys kissing can be endearing. Emo guys kissing just creases me.

thats because you can never tell if its two guys two women or a guy and a girl.

OP i dont think that your abnormal at all - oh adn if you dont talk about wierd sex things - you need to expand your social circle:biggrin:

If it makes you feel better, I feel the same way you do about male on male relationships  I figured that men often fantasise about lesbian couples so it's not inconceivable that it can happen the other way around. There are many more unusual and freakish obsessions...defecolagnia anyone? (Google if you're interested!)

i think that it is not abnormal, nobody can really define abnormal, it just happens to be what others percieve as normal. there arte a lot of things about female/female slash so its gopod you are breaking the norm...but seriously don't worry yourself too much its ok, unless it starts affecting your life then it becomes a problem. :boxing: :boxing:

I don't see what's odd about it, and even if it was particularly strange that's no bad thing; there's a huge variety of things which different people find sexually appealing, and it's good that this is the case.

It's entirely analogous to the more common case of men being turned on by lesbian sex, which is essentially because it's sex with a higher percentage of females in it :P
