SOAS IB Requirements

SOAS' prospectus states that one needs a 30 IB score. UCAS states that it is now 34. Is this possible? Have SOAS' requirements gone up that much within the time the prospectus was published and now?
yeah i think all the requirements are being readjusted. at the other end, some that were 38 last year have been changed to 34 as well this year.

The prospectus said 34 for my course but when I applied they wanted 36. Might be because they didn't like my application but I think SOAS requirements have just gone up a lot recently.

that exact same thing happened to my best friend. but he eventually got rejected with a 33, one point below the original score. are you uk/eu? could also be the reason...
it depends, courses are different but it used to be 34 for the course i want and now thats 36.
all universities have majorly increased their requirements though, its pretty annoying, they don't realize how tough IB is.!

It isn't just IB requirements that went up, it was A-Level too. Japanese went from BBB -> ABB this year.

When I applied the prospectus said the requirement was 37 with HL 6,6,6. My offer was 38 with 7,6,6 at HL! I contacted SOAS and they said the requirement was raised due to increased competition for the course last year; and so the decision was made over the summer.

The website already says that now though: 38 with 766HL. Has anyone actually received an offer BELOW what's stated on the website for their course?
