They're extract based questions, so start with 1-2 paragraphs on the extract, depending how good an extract it is, then do 3-4 more paragraphs from other points in the text that go with the theme/character. The quotes for these paragraphs can be shorter if that's all you can remember, or if it comes to it and you don't know any (you probably know more than you think), just reference an event in the text. Maybe at the end do a conclusion/summary of how the theme/character develops.
Just make sure you analyse the extract at the start of your answer, or it will annoy the examiners.
