Which bank should I open my student account with?

Personally, I rate Nationwide extremely highly (not had their Student Account though).

ill also have a look at natwest.
If you are interested in the ethics of banking, you have problems. I bank with the Co-op, but its future looks a bit iffy. The Nationwide Building Society offers a banking service indistinguishable from the main banks, and at least their profits are returned to their customers, rather than shareholders (building societies also have regulations over how much money they can invest in certain areas). More details here. The Nationwide has a branch on Queen Street in the middle of town, so that's handy too.

But this is definitely a gap in the market atm.
I like Nationwide.

Natwest has notoriously terrible customer service, though has supposedly improved over the last 5 years.

There are also lots of other bank branches in the Oxford city centre - you are not lacking choice there.
When I started uni, Santander had one of the better student accounts so I opened it with them (and had another account with Lloyds anyway). I've not had any issues with either.
