Warwick is a good uni but I wouldn't descirbe it as a party uni. If you want a party uni, go to somewhere like Leeds, Manchester or Nottingham which are all top unis yet also have a party atmosphere/lively social scene.

Wow........ how did I miss this?!

Warwick is noooo where near party central, if you want to get ratarsed with like minded people go to Newcaslte, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester etc. However, you can have a good time at Warwick, dont get me wrong, you just have to look arround. Cov and Leam (but mainly Cov) have decent student nights, cheap and very very drunken. Personally I prefer to socialise with Cov Uni students, but when my housemates do come into town they love it. The union aint up to much, imho, I had a word with the SU president about things like the price of drinks etc (£2.60 for a Smirnoff Ice in an SU... purrllllleaseeee) and he didnt take on any of my points appart frrom the fact that he agreed we needed a Freshers Week.. cos... oh yeah... there aint one!! He just said that the union supports 70 odd clubs and the drinks helped pay for those blah blah blah....... Maybe it just isnt my scene, but cheese mondays, wednesdays and saturdays is overkill surley? They are spending £11m on it next year tho, which should improve it substantually.

What happens cheese wise on Friday?!

Anyway OP.
Stay clear of Rootes for accomodation, aim for AV or a quieter JM block. Sorted.
Westwood sucks.

Have you tried JJs (Jumpin Jaks) on a Tuesday? Colly (now the Kasbah) has a new student night on Fridays, £2 entry with NUS before 11 and 50p drinks with bottles of Stella and the like for £1 each. Maybe worth a punt some time.
