Awaiting Assessment...

Unfortunatley my loan application was late because of my sponsor details being submitted a good month after I had applied.

Anyway, about a week, almost 2 weeks ago, the status of my application changed to awaiting assessment. I thought it had been awaiting this assessment for a while so I decided to call the SLC number.

After going through the automated service I was told the status of my loan is 'Awaiting Approval'.

So is this the same thing as 'Awaiting Assessment', and if not, what is it?

I have had no luck getting in contact with an actual advisor after waiting several times for over an hour on the phone I have given up, and this year (My second year) I have yet to see the 'Online live chat' actually be enabled on the SLC website.

My second question is about the declaration, I applied completely online and did so in my first year too. Am I supposed to recieve something to sign and send back or is that just in the first year?

My experience

Applied september 11th, once sponsor had given their details (the next day) it changed to awaiting assessment (which is awaiting approval).

After a month, on October 4th, it changed to Assessed - Awaiting Signature. Despite the postal strike, I downloaded the form from the website (it will appear in view correspondence once the status changes to awaiting signature) and posted it off special delivery - this form will need to be signed even if you've applied before.

SLC recieved the form on Saturday and the status changed to Assessed on monday - yesterday, my payments appeared in view payments and went to submitted, supposedly to be paid in tommorow...

Obviously it depends on your LEA a lot though

Same boat here, my LEA finally returned my call today after 10 days and said it will be another 3-4 weeks before my application is processed :mad:

and there's no way to expedite it.

Ahh well, it won't hurt me to starve for a while I suppose :rolleyes:

What does submitted mean? the website has most of my payments down as blocked, does this mean they are checking something?

i'd assume the student finance direct one.... what other website do you get things from?

Mines just changed to 'assessed'. Anyone know when I can expect it to change to 'assessed - awaiting siginature' ?

also, on my mums slc account, it came up saying her application was incomplete, after my status changed to assesed to I just went through it all and re-submitted it.

Does this mean anything as I have had no help from SLC, useless idiots.
