Summer Internships in London

I have a bit of money saved, but was just wondering whether it's a good investment as the industry I want to work in has most jobs in London.

But... it'll be a lot of money.. even just for 3 months.

Anybody have experiences of it being worth it?

I'd also like to make contacts there as it's where I'll be hoping to go to after graduation.

It depends on the industry you want to do your internship in. Having said that, there are a lot of summer placement roles in London across various different industries.

Never did a summer internship myself, but I have close friends who did it and they really valued the experience they gained from it. It looks really good on your CV (extremely helpful if you haven't had any previous work experience) and you have the opportunity to gain new contacts too, which is very good to have these days.
