I don't personally, any offers I get will be BBB (or possibly BBBe) but then I'm applying for a course that isn't exactly normal or mainstream (UCL and Edinburgh being the only ones that offer Scandinavian Studies).
If it were feasible though, I would definately have a back up university, always nice to have a kind of safety net rather than have the possibility of facing clearing in August!

What do think about applying to Imperial, UCL, Durham, Nottingham and Bristol?

(If it helps I'm thinking of applying for Zoology or another Biology related course.)

My unis are AAA, AAB, ABB, ABB, ABB.

I'm confident I won't screw up my exams though... and I'm predicted AAA.

Out of those unis, what's the lowest requirement?

If you think you can get at least ABB say, then there's no point applying for a BCC one unless you actually like the uni.

What are your grades like?
None of your 5 unis would be considred "safe" or be used as a back-up!
Then again, if you're predicted something like 4A's with really good GCSE's and have good PS, then it's definitely worth the risk!
I won't be having a back-up uni either- Durham, Edinburgh, St Andrews, KCL and Bristol... (will change my signature in 2 sec..:p: ) But all that said, I already have an unconditional for TCD
Well I think it's AAB, ABB, ABB, ABB, ABB.
I got 3A's and a B for AS (which are cashed in and therefore on the ucas form) and predicted 4A's.

I think I might just apply to them anyway.

Biology related courses don't seem to be very popular looking at the entry requirements so maybe that'll help lol.

If you're predicted AAA or AAB, you should be fine as long as you have a strong PS and good GCSE's. You're bound to get an offer from at least one of them!! :p:

You should be fine! You can afford to take the risk! If you're predicted 4A's and you got 3A's and 1B for AS you should be grand at A-level! You should definitely receive an offer from some of the unis, and as you say Biology related degrees arent overly competitive! Good luck!

It's not only grades that get you in uni. You need other qualifications or whatever.

hello every1.. im thinkin of applyin to aston for computer science. they require BCC with GCSE grade B maths.. however, if i got a BCC with a grade C GCSE maths (bearing in mind if you get a C in GCSE maths they want higher A level grades off you), do you recon they would still consider offering me a place if i applied and got BCC.
^ I suppose it would depend on how strong your personal statement and reference are.

Depends on how many people apply I guess. You'd be offered a last place for example over someone with BCD and an A in GCSE Maths (I would think anyway :s-smilie: )
All mine are AAA/AAB I'd think. Meh, got an A already and sitting on decent AS marks so shouldn't be too pressed.

Mine are all AAA/AAB/ABB/BBB
Reply 15
Nottingham asks for AAB. and QM asks for BBB(my backup). The rest ask for ABB.

I don't really have a back-up, i.e. there's none I can be exactly confident about getting an offer from. I have an AAA/B, two AABs and two AAs requirements down (they're Scottish qualifications so a mixed bag of confusing-ness), but I already have the grades so hopefully I'll get into at least one. :s-smilie:

Mine are BBB, AAB, AAA-BBB, ABB and BBC, and am predicted 3 As and B, but to be honest with drama even my backup will be hard to get in to...
Sort of...ish.

Mine are AAA/AAA/AAA/AAB/AAB

So not much of a fall back..but oh well.

actually, at the moment i've only applied to oxford and lse. plan is to add extra unis once i've heard back from those two. i've got a back up in mind, but i'm a little hesitant to put anything down atm as last year i put down six unis straight away and had two that counted as backups. and i ended up hating them and wishing i'd applied elsewhere. so i'll just have a think, maybe visit some more unis in the next few months
