Can someone please explain this to me?

A circular metal disc is heated.
Which quantity decreases?
A its density
B its diameter
C its thickness
D its volume

The answer is A but I don't understand why.

I think this is how it goes...

DENSITY = MASS / VOLUME

When the disc is heated, the MASS stays the same but the VOLUME increases (due to the metal expanding).

As the volume's value increases, the density decreases (as the divider is bigger).
