Seriously?
This is ********!
the guy said he paid for the seat, now they're being removed and threatened with a prison sentence.
What are your opinions on this outrage?

They put their kid in a place they didn't buy. But, I don't know why they were kicked out after agreeing that the two year old stays on the laps.
They bought it for the family, so the 2-year-old kid can't sit there!

I don't think the staff were right to threaten like they did. But that seat wasn't the 2-year-old's seat.
I completely sympathise with the family thinking they'd paid for it so it belongs to them. But as far as the airline is concerned, their 18-year-old son is a no-show passenger and as such his seat is free for somebody else.
If they wanted the seat for their 2-year-old then they should have done a ticket name change.

No, when you purchase plane tickets you purchase them for individual passengers and not for families or groups. Tickets are non-transferable and in order for a different person to use the ticket, a name change would be made.

I understand the family not realising that, and I do think the airline behaved unprofessionally. But technically, the airline is in the right that the 2-year-old didn't have a right to use that seat.

Hopefully someone will bomb the *******s! Its time airlines stopped treating people like morons.

Dont overbook seats to counter potential loss. If you do overbook, compensate displaced people adequately. But ofcourse things dont work like this because the law is made/enforced by muppets.

Edit: Holy crap! The auto bypass has actually made my word use even worse than I intended. Thats not a racist word I tried to use!

Well hopefully not the bomb, but I hope they see that what they did kicking the family off was wrong.
In the link above, towards the end, you can hear the kid screaming!
Not racist as the muppets are puppets!
