David Ward, and his removal as a candidateWatch
As someone from the West Yorkshire area, I must question you about your removal of David Ward as parliamentary candidate for the constituency of Bradford East, for what appears to be little more than a freudian slip.
Mr Ward was an excellent servant for the constituency from 2010-2015 and continues to represent the area as a councillor, he worked in many local issues, including helping young boys from deprived families with careers advice and always stood up for his constitutents against the grossly negligent Labour administration on Bradford Council.
A good friend of mine, who was vice-chair of the Bradford Lib Dems, actually left the party over this decision that you made.
To me, it seems incredibly harsh, Mr Ward apologised immediately for his comments, and to me, he is not an anti-Semite.
Would you be able to explain your reasoning behind the sacking, and what was going through your head at the time?
