Am I behind in paying my student loan?

Im going to start the open university and am applying for financial support. The thing is on the financial application form it says 'have you had a loan from teh student loand company?' I ticked yes as I used to attend another uni. Then it says 'Are you behind with repayments of any funding you have had from the student loand company?' Should I tick yes or no? If I tick yes then I won't be able to get support for the OU., but I don't understand what the question means am I behind:confused:

Two years ago I went to anyother university but quit and so have a £1000 student loan to pay off. Ive not started paying it yet as Ive not been in full time empoymrnt. What do you think?

Tick no. By being 'behind payments', it means that they have demanded a payment off you, which you have been unable to pay. Which is not true in your case, as they haven't demanded it off you yet (but will do once you're earning 15k).

oh ok, thanks.

Also it askes for my 'student support number' is this the same as the 'customer reference number on my student loans letter?

Don't know about the number, maybe ring and ask them. But I can confirm what steerpike said, you aren't behind with your payments, you don't need to be paying it back yet as you are earning below the threshold. You would only be behind if you should have paid/they asked you to pay, and you hadn't.

Your student support number will start with letters that relate to where you live for example mine started WSUS (because I am from west sussex) and then it will be a load of numbers and then another letter.
