my bf hates uni!

he hates bein there (he's been there nearly a month), so i told him that he should give it time and see if the situation gets any better, then maybe think about other options if it doesnt because there is no point being there and being unhappy, am i right? or has anyone got any other ideas.

yea i agree. give it a chance, try that bit harder to join in etc. and if hes still not happy then find something new

Yeah tell him to give it until maybe near Christmas and if he isn't happy by then, maybe uni isn't for him.

That's an important question. The solution space will be quite different if he's not getting along with people as opposed to disliking his course, for example. :smile:

If he wants to transfer to another uni, it's far easier if he works it out sooner rather than later.

It all depends on what he doesn't like about it.
If it's the people then he can move
If it's the course then that can be changed too
If it's everything about uni then he should come home (though maybe give it a little longer)

Some people just aren't suited for uni. Maybe he could do an Open Degree or do some other training (obviously depends on his course)

It sounds as though you're doing the right thing, just be there and offer support :smile:
