early morning fire drill!!

EEEEEVIL people making us get up at 5:45 in the morning!!!

to then have some fool set the fire alarms off AGAIN at 8:00

if anyone else is on ffriddoedd site, what time did you get your early morning wake up calls?

im on ffridd as well, not had the early morning official test but we did last week have someone set the alarms off by having a shower at 3.30am that never went down too well with some ppl.
i'm quite tempted to just stay in bed if it goes off in the early hours, guessing mine will be some time this week or ive already slept through it

I'm not sure that's possible... there was a warden on each corridor of our halls during organised fire drills :rolleyes:

they bang on doors too :wink:

yeah i almost hit the warden as i flung the door open in a foul mood, but i had been woken up by the Brin Dinas alarms and the one prior to that, so had kinda been awake for about an hour before ours went off!

but surprisingly Tegfan has been pretty good and only had one fire alarm go off in the 3 weeks we've been here. whereas Emerys Evans goes off daily!

although saying that me ironing earlier almost set the alarms off as it got rather steamy in my room (i really should read instructions on hor to use this stupid iron)

gah... what is it with emerys evans and the fire alarms going off at 2:20 and 4:30 this morning, means I got no sleep at all and i'm not even in that building!!! grrrrrrrrrrrr

Sounds about right. Last year I lived in Llys Tryfan (what is now the big hole and building site) so could hear Emerys fire alarms. It's inconvieniently loud enough to wake you up, but also irritating so you can't get back to sleep... :rolleyes:

I remember this from when I was in halls..

I was ill for the 2nd one. I stayed in bed...
The angry warden at the door was ignored and I remained where I belonged. In bed! :biggrin:

I'm unfortunate enough to be living in Emrys Evans this year, and we've had about 15 fire alarms already. The alarm at 2.20 was set off by something in a vacant room, and the one at 4.30 was a faulty alarm. I can hear the Ffridd alarms from my room, but none are as annoying as our own alarm, nor do they go off as often.

well I spend a lot of time in Emerys evans... usually on Corridor 2A and its gone off twice... maybe 3 times when I've been in there. but the Aids tag game that's been invented is rather... erm.... intersting ??

I'm in B block, so I've not heard of that game, and we are mightily annoyed by the alarm, it's become rather predictable (I've correctly predicted it going off a number of times).

A2? My old corridor. Ah good days, good corridor.

Was in A214? Lovely room - lovely view first thing in the morning - first light after an all nighter. Really nice.

fire alarm in tegfan went off earlier.... was not impressed.... and what makes it even worse was it was our warden having a shower that set it off!!!!

I'm at home atm, rather than in Emrys Evans (I wanted some uninterrupted sleep during reading week!), but most of our fire alarms have been set off by our wardens (the alarm box says which room they come from, and most have come from the warden's floor.)

i was over in Emerys Evans earlier today playing on the Wii in 2A and the fire alarm went off... well or so I thought. I forget not every alarm is tested on the same day!

Our alarm is always tested some time between 2 and 2.30 on a Thursday afternoon, as I found out a couple of weeks when I was in bed ill.

I have never been in when our alarm has been tested due to a lecture, and today when it went off when i was in (due to reading week with my management lectures) it scared the hell out of me and i jumped up ready to walk out the door when I remembered it was time fo ours to be tested!!!

early morning fire drill!!
