Confused on choosing subjects

I am currently planning to do Business and Economics but, I really want to do dance, however, the college I want to go to does not offer A-level dance, as a result, I have to choose BTEC. I am confused because the description of the course says that it equates to 3 AS Levels does that mean 1 A-level or I would not be able to do dance because the course is too long. It states that that the course is 1 year long. Could anyone just clarify that?

It seems like that course would take up to much space

If it equates to 3 AS levels than it will equate to the teaching time of 3 AS levels. It will have loads more units than a standard AS.
