Former servicemen are apparently a significant number of those who are homeless. So better care of those who are in the Forces would help.

because men can't um do certain jobs to gain money..

Yes they can: https://www.sleepyboy.com/
I never understand why a lot of these guys (they are usually white) dont just get in to organised crime. After all people from all sorts of third world countries are involved in gangs; if you've got nothing to lose why not at least nick a handbag or two rather than just lie there with an upturned cap.
I used to work in a 24 hr McDonald's and let me tell you, it was full of tramps.
They lived there for months.
Charing Cross/Strand is full of tramps.

Why are so many people homeless?

Substance abuse, mental health problems and the cost of living.

You didn't need a whole thread for this

And you don't need to be so dismissive and discourteous, but we all have our view. (Edit: You're wrong by the way, coming from someone who actually knows what they speak of)

Some of them do. Some of them do both. Stealing a handbag isn't organised crime. Robbing a bank is.

Oh, my mistake. No one in the country right now is homeless because of parental neglect, neurodevelopmental conditions/disabilities in general or poverty. You're completely right.

Y'know, you sound like a guy who truly understands hardship. You must have seen it all bro. So impressed.
(for those who are so dumb and narcissistic they don't realise, its very clearly sarcasm.)

Ah. You're too stupid to see sarcasm. Don't worry, i have left a little note for you.

You're not impressing anyone. It's people like you who get eaten whole. Change your picture, you look dumb. (actually thinking about it, if you dont understand sarcasm, fair enough, leave it up.)

Because we've had a tory government for the past 7 years. Homelessness and poverty always goes up during Tory rule.

Blaming the tories again. For everything that is wrong with the country and your life do you blame the tories as they are the escape goat because they are in power at the moment. Bit of a hollow blame.
Number of reasons.

1. Some people were not lucky enough to have a good start in life. Family issues led to them being kicked out on the street.

2. Mental health issues. Mental health issues may have led to them having drug/alcohol addictions, resulting in them losing their job, tenancy, etc.

3. Intentionally becoming homeless. The government has specific rules on the support homeless people can get. Local authorities are in charge of the amount of support homeless people can get. There are two categories. Intentionally and unintentionally homeless. A lot of people become intentionally homeless without realising. The most common way this happens is that when people get evicted they leave before the bailiffs come. You will be made intentionally homeless if you leave your accommodation without being escorted by the bailiffs.
