Yeh. Some people don't put on much weight, and just assume they're getting a bit fat. Periods can continue as normal for some people, and hormones may not kick in exactly right, meaning that there's no hormonal problems.
If anything, people might just feel a bit ill.

Yep, some people still have periods while they're pregnant, don't get morning sickness or mad cravings etc :p: and regarding the weight, they don't put much on and just think they're getting a bit podgy, particularly if they're already on the podgy side.

I know what you mean about it seeming totally weird, but it does happen.

That, and the baby can sometimes sit very far back in the body, towards the lower back, rather than sticking out and causing a visible tummy bump.

All of this must be quite rare though surely, or else we'd all have known someone like this...?

My mum was quite far along with me till she found out she was pregnant... and my friend didn't find out for a good few months too!!

Someone my mum was friends with ages ago gave birth at work! She had no idea she was pregnant, that must of been so strange!! :s-smilie:

Yes, of course it's rare.

Yup, it can happen. Some people can have periods all the way through and just feel completly normal. Maybe just assume their over doing it to account to the tiredness and such.
Some women also dont show very much, wether its a smaller baby or they're just carrying differently to alot of women.

I can't imagine not knowing. I knew near enough straight away although i can't explain why, and by 4 weeks gone i was suffering the works! I have heard of it happening though, i guess everyones different! I like to plan things so i'm glad i know, although not having the symptoms would be nice!

When my mum was in having my sister (18 years ago now - god I feel old) there was a woman in at the same time. Mum was afraid to talk to her because she assumed she was in for a D and C after a miscarriage as she was a size 8 - tummy completely flat, but eventually she found out that she in having her 3rd child and that she was due any day! She knew she was pregnant but to look at her you'd think she'd never had any children at all - never mind already having two with a third about to pop! Some women just don't show at all and continue to have periods so that's how they don't realise they're pregnant.

But what about when the baby kicks, do the people just think thats a stomachache or something?
I can't imagine not knowing. I was HUGE both times - carried all at the front. And the kicks make your stomach bounce around no end - you can even see limbs sticking out by the end of it.

It must be very very far back in their bodies for them not to know!

Your babies were quite big as well though weren't they Nat? I'd imagine if you had a small baby that would obviously be different :p:

Reply 15

It really depends on the size of your baby, but also how active they are.
Some move around more so than others.

Reply 16

its kind of scarey though because say a woman didnt know she was pregnant , she could carry on goin out gettin really drunk smokin etc etc which most mothers tend to give up whilst pregnant for the sake of the baby.

id want a bump when if i was pregnant cause then atleast you can get excited for 9 months knowin something is comin, plus you can always blame ''the bump'' when ur feelin ill ... or u have a ''headache'' in the bedroom haha!

Hehe!
I'd want a bump. I'd be quite disappointed if I didnt. :p:

plus women with bumps get to waddle around, and people stand up to give them seats ( bassically all the good points of being old too ) but if theres no bump, people are just mean again haha its how the world works

yeh I gave birth to baby elephants lol.

Having said that, I was over 9lbs when I was born and my mam (and dad) swears that all she had in the way of bump was a little bloating as though she was on her period! Crazy but there we go!
