long division... yes, i've forgotten x.x

Yes, I am an idiot. The story:
I haven't done basic maths for over 3 years. The only time i've done maths since gcse is in chemistry, and in that you use a calculator, thus I have forgotton stuff lol.
So because I don't have a-level maths, for my degree I need to take an open unit in maths to get me up to a-level standard, and I happen to be very bad at maths.... We've started on the basic algebra, but i've realised i've completely forgotton how you do long division by hand... (yes, very embarassing)
So I looked up the bitesize website, and it said how to do it etc, but in their method you get remainders.... like the answer might be 23 remainder 13 or something. So, I can't remember, but surely there's a way of doing it without a calculator without getting remainders???

Yes, i'm sorry i'm stupid, but I really am confused and can't for the life of me remember what the hell I did in gcse maths.... and for the record I got a B, so I have no idea how i've forgotten so much....
I'll do you a piccy with a slideshow or something like that!

My method anyways!

Well i was baffled after doing algebraic long division, when I was confronted with numbers. Got there in the end, but still...:p:

When my further-maths class did the topic on algebraic long division, I was one of a few who knew how to long-divide with numbers.

In my primary school, it was only the top set maths class who were taught long-division. I don't know if it's like that in all schools. And if it is, it shouldn't be.

My primary school wasn't setted. In fact, I don't know of many that are. :s-smilie:
I learned how to paint pretty pictures and make sand castles at primary school
We weren't setting in my primary school either and everyone learnt long division.

I liked my primary school, was teh rox.

Did anyone do Trail Blazer?!

It was a silly little science thing best thing with it though was when a stupid boy from my class tried to attack a wasp. He was crying soo much, but deserved it!
