Yes, I am an idiot. The story:
I haven't done basic maths for over 3 years. The only time i've done maths since gcse is in chemistry, and in that you use a calculator, thus I have forgotton stuff lol.
So because I don't have a-level maths, for my degree I need to take an open unit in maths to get me up to a-level standard, and I happen to be very bad at maths.... We've started on the basic algebra, but i've realised i've completely forgotton how you do long division by hand... (yes, very embarassing)
So I looked up the bitesize website, and it said how to do it etc, but in their method you get remainders.... like the answer might be 23 remainder 13 or something. So, I can't remember, but surely there's a way of doing it without a calculator without getting remainders???
Yes, i'm sorry i'm stupid, but I really am confused and can't for the life of me remember what the hell I did in gcse maths.... and for the record I got a B, so I have no idea how i've forgotten so much....
