Hi. I'm an international student, currently studying in bristol uni. I find it extremely difficult to befriend with local students here. I tried so many times and for several months already but to no avail. Is it just be or it's proven that british students are not friendly at all? Old people are very friendly here but not the students. Now I've spent almost a year here but I don't have any british friend at all. They tend to avoid international students which idk why. Pls advise me on how to make friends with them.

all i can say is you just need to keep trying. As a british person myself i dont go out of my way to make new friends, what you need to do is just be yourself and if they dont like you, they dont like you so just move on to the next person. but trust me,
you just need to crack their shell.
good luck

Perhaps you need to change yourself to make friends. Just be yourself and act as if you were from Britain.

* Be yourself
* Speak English when around British people
* Avoid awkward moments
* Try to talk and act like us

I'm a British student with a good few international friends and I honestly haven't noticed anything like this at all - although that might be because I'm in London.. But yeah I have no idea why they would be avoiding you.

I did meet most of those friends through a society - maybe you should try joining one?
