psycho girl..

Its my birthday pretty soon and I'm having a big party so I was trying to let people know the details so that they don't make other plans. Anyway I sent a text message to some of the people I won't see very much before my party just saying hope they could make it and the date and place and all that jazz. One of these was a guy I have worked with for almost 2 years and we get on really well..hes a good friend but nothing more..its just not like that plus he has a girlfriend.

So I get this text message 5 minutes after me sending the birthday message saying 'whos dis' and I thought this was a bit odd since he has my number and has text my phone before so I replied saying 'Its hayley silly' and I then got this message saying 'Hayley who?' and I was starting to get confused when I my phone started to ring and it was his number and a girl answered. So this is how the conversation went:

Me: Hello
Girl: Whos this? (good conversation starter after you ring someones phone)
Me: Its hayley, is this not gareth's phone?
Girl Hayley who?
Me: Sorry is this gareths girlfriend?
Girl: Never you worry about who I am..who are you and WHY were you texting ma boyfriend..I have his phone and I can read any messages hes recieved
Me: Excuse me, I work with him I was just inviting him to my party..he knows about it-
Girl: oh you work with him? you sure about that? funny he hasn't mentioned you
Me: Yes Im sure why on earth would I make it up
Girl: Cause if I find out your some girl whos after my man (clearly not listening to a word I was saying)
Me: Ask him yourself why don't you..I've worked with him for 2 years I was just inviting him to my party and told him that you were invited too..you must have the wrong person
Girl: What party is this then? (At this point Im just thinking its your friends girlfriend try to stay polite)
Me: My 18th party..
Girl: So you told him about this 'party' then did you?
Me: Yeh I mentioned it a few times
Girl: Oh so use talk alot then?
Me: well yes I work with him every weekend..listen I really think your thinking of someone else
Girl: I bet you fancy him
Me: Excuse me?
Girl: Don't act all innocent. Ill be watching his phone very closely so i'll know what goes on
Me: What are you talking about?
Girl : You know perfectly well..I'd watch my step if I were you
Me: Ill bare that in mind

I hung up and thought to myself....what the hell was that? :s-smilie:

Did I say something wrong thing..I was just so confused..shes clearly out of her mind or totally paranoid..I don't know what the heck is going on? She must have the wrong person I mean I never text gareth. If it was any random stranger going on like that I would have told her where to go..but I don't want to fall out with my friend..What would you have done if it was you and would you speak to him about it?

no you did nothing wrong. she just sounds really jealous. i would have told her where to go personally but it could have made things awkward with the friend so you did the right thing.
