The story goes: Lucy Allan (whom is no stranger to controversy), pretends to talk to a 'concerned' resident, who turns out to be a member of her campaign team.

She was called out on Twitter

Corbyn's been doing it at PMQs for two years. You don't really think "his constituent Brenda" is just some politically neutral Islington resident who just happens to be very concerned about arms export licences, do you?

Why is the default response to bad behaviour in politics, a partisan cry of "well the other side do it too!!!1" as opposed to holding the *****y behaviour to account?
