Listening might be another nasty one if AQA decides to follow on from 2016 ...

Tips:
3 C's - Common Sense, Context and Cognates
Remember about 3rd person, negatives and different tenses used

Don't know until we sit the exam but for reference, last year it was 30 marks for A* in Listening and 34 marks for A* in Reading. Personally, I would be expecting something similar this time round if AQA is mean and decides to repeat a paper similar to 2016.

For A* on JUST THE PAPERS it will be about 30 or above on listening, and around 35 on the reading. However your CA also matters and if it's all A* too then you could maybe get away with just an A on the tests.

READ THE QUESTIONS TOO GUYS, ESPECIALLY ON READING.

They had a complete BS question that said 'the summit HAS TAKEN PLACE in the US' but the text said 'it WILL TAKE PLACE in the US' so if you said it has taken place already, you'd get it wrong. They might try something similar this year since that caught a lot of people out and separated the B students from A/A*.

One piece of advice: If it's incredibly obvious, basic vocab right at the start of a long piece of text, it's probably not the right answer.

How did you find it? The listening was diabolical imo!

I found the Listening hard. I'm just hoping my coursework'll keep me at the A* (I got 30/30 on both writings, and on one speaking, 29/30 on the other). I want to do French for A-level, so want to have done well, but I struggled a lot, and am worrying now.

Hey, so did I and I revised all the vocabulary and did every single listening paper. It was so difficult

I'm exactly the same, and same CA grades. I'm thinking I've managed an A* in the reading as I found that okay, meaning I would still get an A* overall if I got a B in the listening. But, I did absolutely awful in the listening exam so don't think I can have got a B!

Listening was a really nasty paper but I tried my best on that. Reading was much better IMO and I think I did well.
